In the United States, Oriental medicine refers to a recognized and accredited graduate degree program majoring in Acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese food therapy, with Tuina, Tai chi, Qi gong and associated modalities. A Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine degree is conferred by the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

They are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). ACAOM is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the specialized accreditation agency for institutions/programs preparing acupuncture and Oriental medicine practitioners. ACAOM is located at the United States of America in the federal state of Minnesota at 8941 Aztec Drive, Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

The Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) is a specialized accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE).
