| '''Pavek Hall''' is the newest of the four high-rise residence halls on the campus of ] (NDSU) in Fargo, ND. The $3.9 million project was finished in 1987 and is located on the southwest corner of the quadrangle of high-rise residence halls. The building is suite-style, where four or five residents share a bathroom between their rooms. At nine stories tall, it is one of the tallest buildings in the area. Average occupancy is around 280 students. Pavek is traditionally an upperclassmen hall, but in 2015 will have a mixture of freshmen and upperclassmen residents. The hall is co-ed with suites alternating between men and women on every floor. The first floor has accommodations for individuals who require the assistance of a wheelchair, floors two through five are reserved for freshmen, while six through nine are reserved for upperclassmen. Pavek is also connected to the other four high-rises through tunnels that additionally connect Pavek to the West Dining Center, ACE tutoring, and a computer lab. | |||

| Pavek Hall received its name in recognition of F. Leslie Pavek, Vice President of Student Affairs. Pavek was born in Grand Forks, ND on May 27, 1929. In 1952 he graduated from the ] (UND) with a Bachelor of Science. He then went on to earn his Masters in 1960 and his Doctorate in 1968 from UND. In 1968 Pavek was appointed Dean of Students at North Dakota State University (NDSU). Then, in 1974, he was appointed Vice President of Student Affairs. In 1990, Pavek retired after 23 years of service to NDSU. | |||

| The Pavek Hall Government is an in-hall organization influencing the development and direction of the community. Each resident of Pavek pays dues to the Residence Hall Association (RHA). RHA appropriates a budget based on the occupancy of Pavek Hall, which they use to host events in the building and purchase items to improve the hall and the experience of its residents. | |||
| The organization is led by the Executive Board, which consists of the Pavek Hall President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Campus Services Representative, Programming Council Representative, and Diversity Initiative Leader. This group applies over the summer and is elected by the Pavek Hall residents during the first two weeks of the fall semester. Executive positions are held for the entire academic year. Each of the floors is represented by at least two floor representatives. Floor representatives are volunteer positions and are not elected. Any Pavek resident is able to serve in any capacity on hall government, whether that is holding a position or attending meetings and providing input. Pavek Hall Government is advised by the Pavek Hall Director. | |||
| Pavek Hall Government hosts events regularly throughout the year, such as movie nights, a Super Bowl party, and grocery bag bingo. Their largest annual event is Watermelon Days, which is hosted in the spring near the end of the academic year.
