- Twenty gunmen open fire around a border checkpoint between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, killing a border guard and a policeman. Fifteen of the assailants were killed and five others were captured. (Al Jazeera)
- A knife attacker injures eight people, including three Mexicans and a Swiss tourist, before being arrested in Jerash, Jordan. One of the Mexican tourists and a Jordanian tour guide were seriously injured. Among the injured, there is a bus driver who was stabbed while trying to stop the assailant from entering a cafeteria full of tourists. (BBC)
