January 2013

Hello, I'm Tbhotch. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, List of gay, lesbian or bisexual people: F, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Misplaced Pages has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 22:00, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 3

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Best-selling albums in the United States since Nielsen SoundScan tracking began, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Based on a True Story and Night Visions (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:31, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

New RfC on Talk:List of African-American Academy Award winners and nominees

I have just posted a new RfC on Talk:List of African-American Academy Award winners and nominees. Given your previous involvement in the discussion of a related RfC there, you might want to comment on mine. 99.192.66.175 (talk) 14:36, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 25

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Kathy Griffin stand-up specials, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The View (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

List

Hi Shivertimbers433. As noted in the 21 April general notice I posted on the page, I've started a formal move review of the RfC. Best regards, Middayexpress (talk) 19:32, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Catregories for discussion

I have closed the discussion at Misplaced Pages:Categories for discussion/Log/2014 July 10 with no outcome on Category:Digital movie cameras and Category:Camcorder films, as you had not tagged the category pages. Please let me know if there is any specific part of the instructions at WP:CFD that does not work or is hard to follow. – Fayenatic London 14:42, 24 September 2014 (UTC)

Rachel Morrison

Hi, thanks for creating the article for Rachel Morrison! Just a heads up that I expanded it a little and have nominated it here to appear on the "Did you know" section on the main page. 97198 (talk) 13:52, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

DYK for Rachel Morrison

Updated DYK queryOn 7 March 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rachel Morrison, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Dope is cinematographer Rachel Morrison's seventh film to screen at the Sundance Film Festival in six consecutive years? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rachel Morrison. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Backup

Hi, make backups of the monster list. With in essence one contributor (=you) based on an uncommon interpretation of "what wikipedia is not" anybody else suggesting a "speedy deletion" has a high success chance, and then your work would be not more visible for non-admins. –Be..anyone (talk) 03:02, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Hello mate, not quite sure I understood your message. Could you elaborate more? --Shivertimbers433 (talk) 05:32, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
I'm one of the "keep talk where it was started" folks, therefore I've copied your reply and answer here: I'm kind of worried that you create a huge referenced list alone. It's not like any other page I know, and there are rules in the direction of Misplaced Pages:NOTDIRECTORY against creating huge lists based on external links (the references on this page could be also considered as external links.) Maybe ask for a third opinion somewhere, because I think you put a lot of effort in the list, and I'm not confident that it won't be deleted. Allegedly (untested) the Teahouse is an extremely friendly place, and the (tested) Help desk is straight forward, if you have no better idea where to get another opinion. –Be..anyone (talk) 05:52, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Vermont gubernatorial election, 2014

Hi Shivertimbers, in reference to your recent edit at Vermont gubernatorial election, 2014, which I support, you should be aware that two other editors felt that the Libertarian candidate should be included. Out of respect for their wishes, we should weigh in at Talk:Vermont gubernatorial election, 2014#Libertarian candidate. Cheers, User:HopsonRoad 17:59, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of 24/7 Wall St.

Proposed deletion of 24/7 Wall St.

Hello, Shivertimbers433. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, 24/7 Wall St., for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

May 2017

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Stranger Things. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Misplaced Pages's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. -- Alex 04:54, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Video formats

Per the instructions for {{Infobox television}}, the picture_format field should be "the video or film format in which the show is or was originally recorded or broadcast". Aspect ratios are not a video format. This is not understood by many editors, which is why they are improperly included in some infoboxes. If you find these, you should remove them, rather than conform to an incorrect practice. Please note that the instructions also say not to use SDTV as it is ambiguous. --AussieLegend () 19:04, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 13

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Sarah Silverman Program, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page High definition (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Discretionary sanctions on Jeff Van Drew

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Misplaced Pages's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
