Lew Leonidowicz (Aronowicz) Szwarcman (Russian Лев Леони́дович (Аронович) Шва́рцман) born on July 25, 1907 in St. Petersburg (or in Szpole), died on May 13, 1955 in Moscow) - officer of the Soviet special services, colonel.

Szwarcman was a son of the banking official who fought in the civil war in Russia in the ranks of the White Army. He graduated from the workers' school in Kiev in 1924 and joined Komsomol in 1925. From February 1929 Szwarcman was the head of the editorial department of the newspaper Moskowskij Komsomolec and the secretary of the editorial office of Raba Moscow. From 1937, an NKVD officer and lieutenant of state security and deputy head of the NKVD Investigation Department. On March 14 1940 he was promoted to major of state security. From March 15, 1940, deputy head of the Chekists' operational group in Vyborg, conducted arrests, led investigations and organized NKVD structures in parts of Finland incorporated into the USSR after the aggression against that country. From February 1941, deputy head of the NKGB Investigation Department of the USSR. From August 1941, deputy head of the NKVD / NKGB / MGB Investigation Department of the USSR of Special Importance. In February 14, 1943 appointed colonel of state security. In June 1949 he was sent to Bulgaria to assist in the investigation of a member of the Political Bureau of the Bulgarian Communist Party of Trajczo Kostova.
