:This sentence had been mangled from the original "With beginnings at the end of the 19th century" to "At the beginning of the 19th century". I could not verify "end of 19th century" either so I've removed this sentence. – ''']''' ] 10:14, 12 January 2020 (UTC) | :This sentence had been mangled from the original "With beginnings at the end of the 19th century" to "At the beginning of the 19th century". Blackface Sweater Controversy
Does "This advertisement may sound shocking to some, but to the advertisement industry it is a prime example of what they are supposed to do. William O'Barr argues that advertisements' main priority is to break through and draw the consumer's attention, regardless of what is deemed appropriate in society's eyes" sounds a little apologetic and POV to anyone else? --FeldBum (talk) 12:57, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- I reorged a bit, since I think that line was really about some TV ads Gucci produced, not the sweater release. Still think it's POV. Welcome opinions. --FeldBum (talk) 13:02, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

The "History" section states: "At the beginning of the 19th century, the Gucci company became one of the world’s most successful manufacturers of high-end leather goods, clothing, and other fashion products." However, it goes on to state that the company was not founded until the beginning of the 20th century (1920). Seems to have been written by someone who doesn't understand how centuries are numbered.
