: Thanks for that hint, Kchase02. Actually, I saved the list myself before it was deleted, but have so thoroughly weeded, revised and added to it, it looks nothing like its former self. When I re-post it, will be a series of annotated lists, limited to AV stars (not the more general "porn") with the actresses arranged by year of debut. The list will be broken down into decades, maybe by individual year in particularly prolific times. A narrative summary of the decade will be followed by more detailed discussions of each year. The entries lists of actresses who debuted in each year will include information about each model, links to news articles mentioning the actress, interviews, and source citations. It's been a lot of work, but the 1980s should be ready to post soon, and the '90s and 2000s won't be far behind that. ] 18:32, 13 December 2006 (UTC) : Thanks for that hint, Kchase02. List

No, not every item in a list needs to be worthy of an article - however, when we're listing people in a particular occupation, yes, it does, because we should only devote our time to those who are notable. Misplaced Pages is not an indiscriminate list of info - one should not come here expecting to find a list of every porn star ever. Such a list is impossible for us to make and maintain, and has no place here. A category is best to replace a list which only contains links, and no other information. As for redlinks, they can be created in the future and added to the category. My motivation is simply to replace what I saw as a blue link-only list with a category. If it previously contained a lot of non-linked names, without any context, citation, or notability, then they should have been removed.

You are more than welcome to maintain a list on your own; however, I just don't see it being good for WP. A category seems to be much better. --Golbez 15:53, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Sex crimes against Asian women

Could you please provide a specific instance of this behaviour? As far as I can ascertain, there has been no redirect from this article to his userspace. Johnleemk | Talk 16:46, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

There is nothing wrong with duplicating article content for scratchwork in your personal userspace, as long as you refrain from creating redirects from article space to userspace. If you had examined the context of the article, there was consensus to rename Sex crimes against Asian women as Sex crimes against Asian women in the United States. To avoid leaving things hanging, I replaced the redirect created by the move with a stub on sex crimes against Asian women around the world. At no point was there any redirect to userspace involved. Johnleemk | Talk 16:59, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
If you can find a way to enforce additions to the article in an appropriate manner to prevent the wanton addition of unknown actresses (most likely by demanding specific citations for each actress), why not? I have no authority to speak concerning Hong's alleged crusade, as admins enforce policy and don't make it, and I do not have the full details regarding the issue. If Hong is out of line, you can expect others to recognise this and call him out. Johnleemk | Talk 17:30, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Correction

Again, please assume good faith. And no, I do not delete these articles. I am not an admin. They're put up for a vote. --- Hong Qi Gong 16:16, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

AfD/Yuria Kato

Hi, (aeropagitica). I believe the recommendations for deletion of the Yuria Kato article at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Yuria Kato based on non-notability were made based on unfairly inadequate and misleading information. The notability tests were made in English, producing drastically fewer results than are obtained with using her actual Japanese name. Claims of her non-notability showed far, far less notability than she actually shows with the search on her actual, Japanese name (加藤ゆりあ). Similar models who have shown less notability (see: Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Shoko Goto and Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Hikaru Koto 2) have recently failed AfD nominations. Can the case be reconsidered with the evidence of the Japanese search (i.e., significant presence on Amazon and an article on Japanese Misplaced Pages) being weighed into the matter? Thank you. Dekkappai 13:24, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Please make a case for undeletion at Misplaced Pages:Deletion review. (aeropagitica) 13:28, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

How about this

OK, our comments on the AfDs are obviously becoming unconstructive. If you still agree that not all Japanese porn actresses are notable enough, what I would like to do is discuss specific articles with you first before I nominate them for deletion. However, I still insist that a Japanese porn actress with no mainstream work, no notable magazine appearances, no notable awards, etc, would not be notable. It's not just American standards, because without any of the credentials that I keep mentioning, nothing makes a porn actress unique or notable, Japanese or not. Note that I am not saying that I won't nominate an article just because you disagree with the notability of the person in question. But if you can show that they're verifiably notable, I definitely won't nominate them. So with that in mind, for now, here are two that I don't think are notable: Manami Yoshii and Reika (porn actress). --- Hong Qi Gong 22:05, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry, I know he's a bit of a jerk when it comes to that. He hasn't fooled me with that report. If he causes trouble on your patch, drop me a line and I'll see if I can help. John Smith's 16:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Re: Removal of "Category:Asian porn star" from Asian countries

Hi, if you're asking my personal opinion, I'd agree with HonQiGong on this one, since the categories seem to contain people by ethnicity instead of nationality (and should probably be renamed accordingly). As such, they would not belong in 'by nationality' categories. I do agree that edit warring isn't helpful, but the same goes for you too. - Bobet 20:33, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

How about creating a "Porn stars by ethnicity" and categorise those categories into it? - Hong Qi Gong 20:45, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Chiharu Miyama

Hi there Dekkappai! I noticed you saved the article on Chiharu Miyama and I would like to know why? Sorry I was not able to discuss about the subject during the deletion days but my PC was KO'd. I noticed some kept saying that the whole "Lady Karate Fighter VS Rape Maniacs" thing was a hoax, but that is the translation catfight.co.jp gave it to that title, as it can be seen here: ]. We have to realize that not always the japanese language will offer an exact translation for western languages; since the original japanese title said something like "Karate House VS Rape Demons" and many others. Maybe it could had helped more if it had been in its original japanese characters plus its code (SDDM-003). Tell me Dekkappai, is it possible for you to also keep and save the articles on Shinobu Ayukawa and Erika Nagai? Can I contact you any other way besides here? Thanks. --El Chompiras 12:19, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply Dekkappai! OK now I can get what are you planning to do, do you need any help with it? The article on Shinobu Ayukawa/Eri Matsui seems to be long gone from Wiki, but can still be found on some of those websites which rip off Misplaced Pages like Answers and such. The only way to see the one on Erika Nagai is via this link ] out of it, it has been erased leaving only my question on its deletion. I did not knew that users could save articles, can I still save Erika's? Chiharu has been in more videos, I happen to have covers of them but the one mentioned has to be her most known work. I really think we should contact ourselves in a more private way, since I feel uncomfortable showing my messages to main Misplaced Pages guys, I was sure there was some private message option but guess there is not any. Anyway, nice that you gave a reply about all of this. --El Chompiras 16:36, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi again Dekkappai! Have you seen that the article on Erika Nagai is back??? Except that I like it how you did it better, maybe you could arrange it like placing that "Career" subheader. I was not able to see your e-mail, but you know; think it might be safer if we get in contact at the Mariko Morikawa MSN group we are part of?? Take care! --El Chompiras 01:09, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Userfying deleted material

Dekkappai, in this AfD, you mentioned trying to rewrite a list of Japanese porn stars. You can contact one of the admins listed here if you need to see the original to rework your copy. Cheers!--Kchase T 06:39, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
