ARS Code of Conduct
  • Note that this wikiproject is only intended to improve the encyclopedia. The project is not about casting votes or vote-stacking. Be sure to follow the guideline on canvassing. This means, in part, that you should use Template:Rescue list on the deletion discussion page when you list the discussion here.
  • Focus on improving content. For example, when working on an article listed for rescue, try to qualify topic notability by adding reliable-source references with significant coverage of the topic. Edit the content to address specific concerns raised in the AfD discussion.
  • Show the light. If you comment in an AfD discussion, try to describe points in the nomination that have been corrected. Note any remaining deficiencies (e.g. lack of organization, structural problems, lack of balance, etc.). Base comments upon Misplaced Pages's deletion policy. If an article has been rewritten, you may place a comment in the AfD as a courtesy to assist the closing admin in determining which article version others were referring to.
For more information about article rescue, please refer to ARS Tips to help rescue articles and ARS Rescue guide
For additional article improvement listings, check out this project's archives and listings at WikiProject Cleanup

This is a list and discussion of Misplaced Pages content for rescue consideration. When posting here, please be sure to:

  • First familiarize yourself with Misplaced Pages's guidelines for topic notability and identifying reliable sources, as well as the prohibition on inappropriate canvassing
  • Include a specific rationale why the article/content should be retained on Misplaced Pages, and any ideas to improve the content. Please ensure that your comment here is neutrally worded. (You can also !vote to delete an article at its deletion discussion because you think it is untenable in its present state, and still list it here in the hope that another editor will find a way to improve it and save it.)
  • You should disclose in a deletion discussion that a post has been made at the rescue list.
  • Sign posts with four tildes ~~~~.
  • Place the {{subst:rescue list|~~~~}} template in Articles for deletion discussions, to notify editors about the listing here. The tag can be placed below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

The following templates can be used for articles listed here:

  • *{{Find sources|Article name}} - Adds source search options
  • *{{lagafd|Article name}} - Adds relevant links
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (2nd nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated twice
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (3rd nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated 3 times
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (Nth nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated N ≥ 4 times

Pizza-ghetti

This smells like the new pizza cheese which caused much excitement in 2012. Now, in 2020, we're needing another slice of comfort food, right? Andrew🐉(talk) 08:45, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

Al Haynes

Chesley Sullenberger was nominated for deletion. Tammy Jo Schulz was nominated too. And now we have another similar case. What I tell you three times is true. Andrew🐉(talk) 20:28, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Starring Julia

  • Lebanese short film about a 70 year old woman who chases her dream to become an actress. The film won some awards in film Festivals. Sources seem hard to come by, and the nomination points to another film by the same director (Elie Fahed) which was deleted after virtually no AfD participation. Not sure what we can do for this, or if foreign language sources exist. Lightburst (talk) 17:47, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

  • Internet sensation famous for his theatrical statements when arrested for a dine and dash crime.
"This is democracy manifist!"
"What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?"
"Get your hands off my penis!"

What is notability? Can we show more than the one in depth source already in the article? Should this bloke merit inclusion in the encyclopedia? I hope you have a laugh at the video of his arrest. Ignore all rules. Lightburst (talk) 02:50, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Article was not nominated correctly to show 2nd nomination. Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes I did a page move to solve the incorrect nomination... Lightburst (talk) 00:46, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

Keep 2nd nomination. Given that the !vote was 13 KEEP to 4 DELETE on the second go around (and ignoring the first), IMO this was a WP:SNOW keep. 7&6=thirteen () 10:51, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

The second AFD was patently abusive and a waste of a lot of valuable editor effort. That there were coincidental article improvements does not justify it.
Indeed, the nominator fancies himself as a would be WP:RFA. Keep that in mind. 7&6=thirteen () 13:30, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

DYK for S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes

On 29 March 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that after 50 years in business, S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes is both a landmark and a stop on "Haunted Pittsburgh" tours? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

I came across this one during my Deletion sorting activities. I was able to immediately find an article with non-trivial coverage. I wonder if the oldest and largest toy store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania can be saved by our efforts. Lightburst (talk) 02:52, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

I was able to add some RS to this article. Building out and preserving history in articles makes me happy; and I also feel a bit of sadness. Laid out before me is a person's whole life. Or in this case the story of a toy store's survival in spite of big-box retailers and internet toy companies. There is more to be found, but the article has a good start. FYI the founder Jack Cohen may also be notable enough for an article. (maybe). Cheers Lightburst (talk) 22:14, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
I added a number of books. Otherwise, have not yet done an internet search. Seems to be a question of WP:GNG, although the deletion proposers didn't say so. They said a "probable sock" was the source of the article – which has nothing to do with the article's merit. 7&6=thirteen () 17:02, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
I am proud of you editors! You brought this one back from the dead. Lightburst (talk) 03:08, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

AFD was originally closed as keep after a majority of participants voted keep following a handful of editors identified sources and one editor made expansion efforts on the article. Seems notable. But the article is lacking. Many sources were presented at AfD. Lightburst (talk) 23:08, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

I believe this article clearly passed notability standards and that there is significant coverage about the subject in notable sources, but the article at the time the AFD began was mostly unsourced plot summary. I've expanded the article slightly but fear time restraints might prevent me from continuing to do so to the point of rescuing it, so I'm listing it here with the hopes that other editors can add sources and expand/improve the article. — Hunter Kahn 14:40, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

EverlyWell (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs|google) AfD discussion

  • Company in it's infancy. Yet they have secured a Shark Tank 1 million dollar deal in 2017, and then went on to secure 50 million more dollars in 2019. They have mail order health testing kits. There seems to be quite a bit of RS is available. The catch: the article was deleted January 2019. Now that it has been recreated, all previous !voters were pinged and there may be a cascade of reflexive delete !votes. Lightburst (talk) 19:00, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
On second thought it feels rigged. The nominator is the one that pinged all of the editors from an AfD that concluded a full year ago. I have never seen that done. Since it was a strong overwhelming delete a year ago, this feels like a canvas. Lightburst (talk) 19:11, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
