Tiruchirapalli (also known as Trichy) is a city situated on the banks of the Kaveri river and is centrally located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The city was formerly known as Trichinopoly.
It has many historic temples and monuments, such as the 80 metre high Rockfort Temple, situated at the heart of the city.
The Regional Engineering College and the Bharathidasan Institute of Management are also located in Tiruchirapalli.
