== Could this article make a front-page appearance? ==

THIS IS A DRAFT AND NOT DISCUSSION OF THE ASSOCIATED PAGE. PLEASE LEAVE ANY MESSAGES FOR ME ON MY MAIN TALK PAGE.

Now that the article has been polished and is awaiting Sandy's nod of approval, I got to wondering if it might be able to make an appearance on the front page - ideally on 17 September 2020, 23 years after the Barbican performance. I thought I'd canvass some opinion here first.

As the article mentions, 23 is significant in ''The Illuminatus! Trilogy'' which inspired the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu/KLF and (as covered in more detail at ] - which needs a copy edit) was very important in the duo's career - one example given here being the lifespan of 2K: 23 minutes. They returned in 2017 (]), 23 years after their money burning, to discuss that event and launch a novel and new plans for a People's Pyramid.

I understand that ] was ] and the consensus seemed to be that it was an interesting article but that the word "Fuck" could not appear so prominently on the front page. However, the for the FTM single gave alternate titles, '***k The Millennium'/'Fuck The Millennium' (I've always felt the ***K was deliberate, with K meaning KLF, but I'm not sure if I have a source for that and it's not really relevant). The KLF don't usually censor themselves, and have generally used the F-word to express bewilderment and not - I believe - to cause offence; but here we have an "officially sanctioned" censored alternative title.

So, why did we name the article "Fuck the Millennium" in the first place?
* Because the title of the song and single is interchangeable, we went with the non-censored version as Misplaced Pages is not censored and using the censored version would give the appearance of censorship
* "***K the Millennium" would be harder to find
* The F word features in the song lyrics tens of times
* The article is about not just the song, but the entire 1997 comeback, the consistent theme of which was "fuck the millennium" (and the Dome, and the promises for the future rather than "now", and the massive spending of lottery/taxpayers' money...)

I believe the naming decision to be correct, but would be perfectly happy to see the article renamed to the censored version for at least the duration of a front-page appearance.

Pros:
*The article has not been on the front page before, nor has any article connected to this duo been on the front page for well over 10 years (so far as I'm aware)
* An anniversary is looming

Cons:
* The F word would still be ''in the article'', in spades
* Is the article interesting? That's not for me to say. It's not as interesting an article (to me at least) as, for example, ] (former featured article which made a front-page appearance on March 9, 2007, or ] which is currently a GA, but neither of those are potential candidates for obvious reasons.
* If the review is essentially an FAR, I'm not sure I have the stomach for it
* The best image, ] is fair use so would not be eligible (it might be possible to secure a free licence for it if the KLF own the copyright, but as they mostly handle their own affairs I would not feel comfortable contacting either of them to ask for permission)
**On the other hand, ] (the cover of the single) is on Commons and available (''I'' didn't move it, and it has been through ] there)
