Shannernanner is elsewhere for now, but will check this talk page now and then.
Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom and using headings, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages by typing four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: We, wikipedians, dislike fragmented discussions. If you leave a comment for me, I will most likely respond to it in here, in this same page, on my talk page, as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, always feel free to respond to it there, on your talk page. Remember we can use our watchlist to keep track and know when each other respond to each comment. But also feel free to send me an alert in here about a new message on your conversation side, as I might do it as well.

Thank you!

Fairly OddParents

An IP address had vandalized The Fairly OddParents Episode List. Thanks for helping to fix it up.--Patrickrox11 13:06, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Patrickrox11

You're welcome, and thanks for your help too. :-) Shannernanner 17:32, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Tristan DuGrey

I just thought I'd let you know that they may revert this back to the Tristin spelling, because that's what it is within IMDB and the WB's past publicity, and in closed captioning. I went through the same annoying battles over Paris Gellar when I was filling in that article, and eventually had to cede because it's really Geller (even though again, only show publicity and closed captioning uses that spelling; see the PG talk for an argument against 'fan spelling').

Trust me, I'd rather it be Tristan myself (I was one of the first to ship him and Rory together), but we have to cede to the show's official publicity, even if no one cares about how it's spelled. Nate 06:20, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

The official website spells it Tristan; I think that's fair "proof." Shannernanner 06:48, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Sean Michael Afable WBb.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sean Michael Afable WBb.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 01:46, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

More replaceable fair use images

Tainted poll?

Hi. Sorry to bother you. You participated in a television episode article naming poll which now lives at this location. Some feel that wording changes have compromised the results of that poll. If you don't mind, could you please take a look at what is there now and add a quick note at WT:TV-NC#Looking for anyone who objects to the last poll to say whether your feelings on the matter remain the same? Of course you can feel free to read over the entirety of both links for more information. Thanks. —Wknight94 (talk) 02:06, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey Shannermanner. There is a lively debate about use of promo photos on wikipedia. My name is Jeff and I Do not support the interpretation of WP:FU as implemented by user's like User:Chowbok. They believe that Misplaced Pages should be free of all promotional photos that are "replaceable with an equivalent" (i.e. an amateur photo from flickr). Their rationale is being debated in many places, and take it a step further believing that all promo photos should be deleted and let someone else deal with finding and uploading a free alternative.

And many other places I've no doubt missed.

I and many others who support use of fair use promotional photos have not been successful in changing the actions of Chowbok and rampant deletion and changing of many hundred's of useful images from Misplaced Pages articles continues. One good example is the Jennifer Granholm article which had a great promo photo replaced by a terrible photo. I seek to raise the profile of this issue through challenging promotional photos on high profile article's like this one. I'm sorry, really I am, but fair use policy as implemented by Chowbok has left me with few viable options.

I invite you to join the battle for Promotional Photo usage on Misplaced Pages and the protection of Fair Use concepts. --Jeff 07:17, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your comments; I am not currently active on Misplaced Pages, but from my understanding of the former image policies and what I have read of the policies which some are trying to enforce, I do support the use of public domain images when they can be used, but do not support the mass deletion of publicity photos and other photos with the "possibility" that some public domain image may "someday" be found. However, I do not have the ability at the moment to join the debates. Thanks. Shannernanner 00:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
