Janardan Singh nick name JD besides Chairman of Bihari Peasants Cooperative Society Limited is National General Secretary of All India Workers Trade Union, All India Insurance Workers Union and Progressive Workers and Peasants of India. Also Mumbai President of All India Unorganised Workers Congress of All India Congress Committee.

His MA in 1992 and MPhil is from Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi. He also did Diploma in Trade Unionism and Industrial Relation from Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies,Parel,Mumbai and is Life Insurance Associate from Insurance Institute of India.

On 15th November 2017 he joined Congress Party and was made Mumbai President of All India Unorganised Workers Congress (an Official Department) of All India Congress Committee. Before to it, he was in SheKap as Spokesperson. Earlier to it, he was Maharashtra President of Lokmanch(a political party formed by Amar Singh) and before it State General Secretary of Maharashtra Samajwadi Party under State Presidentship of Abu Azmi.

In JNU Student days(1990-1995), he was a strong ABVP,JNU leader known to be one of founder of ABVP in JNU. In his leadership in JNU, he not only dominated JNUSU(Student Union) working in close cooperation with NSUI and Free Thinkers but also swept JNUKA (Karamchari Union) bringing both Centre and Right together. He was a Non-Left JNU's Icon.

He hails from a Congress Family as his Grandfather was a Veteran Congressmen. His mother side is Socialist. He is a firm believer in Ganga-Yamuni tahjib, which brought him close to Congress. He is ardent fan and follower of Late Smt. Indira Gandhi(participated in Jail Bharo Abhiyan in 1977 in Gaya, Bihar but as he was a minor, he went unnoticed) and Honourable Rahul Gandhi(treat and consider him as modern day Gandhi for his invaluable thinking and effort on/for uplift of Unorganised Workers of India).Honourable Rahul Gandhi inspired him to Organise the Unorganised.

He is a firm believer in Development from Below model and is for Horizontal Development. He vehemently oppose Growth Centre Model(Vertical Growth Model which is even incapable of Vertical Development) of Indian Government and want it to be abolished in favour of Horizontal Growth and Development.He also believes that it can only be achieved by Rule of Proletariat under Honourable Rahul Gandhi leadership.
