You are a good vandalism fighter. Keep it up! HyperSonicBoom 01:21, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Re:AFD

User Yrgh has been blatantly nominating articles for deletion for weeks with NO GROUNDS; it is ludicrous the we have to indulge his lunacy on the dozens of articles he's tagging by actually debating the issue. Please look at his edit history; beside updating gay porn articles, he just tags articles AfD. How can we stop him?! TAnthony 01:35, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I see that now, I've listed him at AIV for his recent edits.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 01:36, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Hey thanks; this guy has been driving me nuts and frankly I don't know the proper channels to handle it. I've left him nice messages and not-so-nice ones, but nothing sinks in. I left him alone and he seemed to give up on it for a couple of days, but ... thanks again. Hope I didn't sound mad at you earlier! TAnthony 01:46, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
No problem. I've had problems with him, too (he put {{notability}} on an article on my watchlist when the article asserts notability probably because I had dealt with him in the past).—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 01:49, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

The Florida Channel

The links you reverted on this article are dead, the links that now appear are the correct and current links, DO NOT REVERT THEM AGAIN PLEASE. 151.198.163.73 03:39, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Established users? Who are they?

Uh, Ryulong? Why can't I edit Torchic? What is an established user, anyway? -- Altiris Exeunt 03:58, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

You should be able to edit Torchic. The page is semi-protected, which means that users with accounts older than 4 days may edit the article.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 03:59, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, I tried, but my edits appeared to be ignored. -- Altiris Exeunt 04:00, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I was having problems with that. It seems to be a database hickup.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:01, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

No wonder; I saw Arundakim vandalising, and I wanted to help out by reverting, but my edits were ignored completely. -- Altiris Exeunt 04:03, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, that may mean that someone performed an identical reversion to the page.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:04, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

No wonder. Thanks. Torchic will be on my watchlist too, so I'll help out whenever and wherever I can. -- Altiris Exeunt 04:05, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

My reversion of Pokémon Emerald has also been ignored; you're right, it's fastest finger first here! <snorts> -- Altiris Exeunt 04:11, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I saw your last edit of Torchic. Good thing you did a null edit of a safe version. I think all Wikipedians editing for the good of that article owe you one. -- Altiris Exeunt 04:13, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

It's too bad my version was already fucked with :/—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:14, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, thanks a lot Ryulong. I really appreciate the good work you're doing for us. Alphachimp 04:14, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
If that's the case, we'd better ask DJ Baniel to back it up, if he is trusted. I'm sorry, but I'm in a rush now. This is the first time I'm so worked up over Misplaced Pages. <snorts again> -- Altiris Exeunt 04:17, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
I've been fixing his edits to the article, and I've set up a safe point.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:17, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Alright! Thanks, Ryulong! Now how do I do the Barnstar thingy...no no no, let me find out myself... -- Altiris Exeunt 04:18, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Find them at WP:BARN.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:25, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm cracking up at all the edits. Vandalism gets reverted in a split second! Cheers. -- Altiris Exeunt 04:33, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank goodness for that semi-protection! It was really getting out of hand. Things should cool down a little now. -- Altiris Exeunt 04:53, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Actually, it's been fully protected.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:54, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

My First Barnstar...to YOU!!

The Original Barnstar
It may be a minor task to you, but it is a major task for me. I appreciate your efforts in creating safe revisions for Torchic and I, Altiris Exeunt, award this, my fist Barnstar to you, Ryulong. You have certainly deserved it. Congratulations. -- Altiris Exeunt 04:26, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

WP:AIV

Hi I have noticed that you have reported a large number of vandals to the AIV lately. Thank you for doing so...however most of the ones you bring to attention have no last warning. PLease make sure that the vandals that you bring to the AIV are adequately warned, Thank you and keep up the great vandal fighting work. — Seadog_MS 05:56, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I realize that some that I have reported (the last two tonight) were not warned, but the MascotGuy-esque one and the unconstructive edits really have no "warning" I could have given them.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 06:00, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Well here are many different templates that can be used. — Seadog_MS 06:03, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
I don't know which would really apply in the cases I've mentioned above.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 06:04, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Okay, cheers...sorry for being a bug :D. Like I said keep up the Great work.— Seadog_MS 06:08, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for helping out on the Mel Mermelstein article. Samboy 06:56, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Number of times your Userpage has been vandalised

Um, Ryulong? How can your Userpage be vandalised 26⅓ times? It thought it must be a whole number. -- Altiris Exeunt 11:12, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Photo

Dear Ryulong, Thanks your warning about photo in my message.I am really sorry.I didnt aware the fair use of that image. Regards. Must 21:27, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Please see Misplaced Pages:Fair use for more information on why I just editted several hundred user talk pages.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:28, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Their Ryulong, I know the rule about Fair use, but I didnt aware, that photo has Fair use tag. Thanks for your efforts to revert my messages, sorry for that stupid headache.

...Well, all screenshots are fair use.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:52, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: Dates

The overall Wiki guide is pretty clear: cardinal numbers not ordinals, full name for the month, and 4 digits for the year. Beyond that, it seems to be a matter of choice and consistency.

As a side note, I can see the reason for "name" and "4 digit" criteria: seeing something "01-06-03" is exceedingly confusing, It could be any of the following:

  • January 6, 2003
  • January 3, 2006
  • June 1, 2003
  • June 3, 2001
  • March 1, 2006
  • March 6, 2001

I've run into this problem where I work, where it's common to use the 6 digits, but there is no consistency to the sequence.

As for the follow up on the Time Force article, it was as much about consistency as about the month format.

Thanks for listening... — J Greb 04:53, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, the formatting I've used to link is ] (for the current date) which turns into whatever is the choice of the user, which would be 2006-12-24. I did not put the ordinals in, another user did, and I screwed up in reverting him. However, while it's probably better to use ] ], both end up becoming the same thing to registered users who have changed their preferences.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:56, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

New Watchlist Feature?

What's with all the pluses and minuses I see on my Watchlist? -- Altiris Exeunt 06:57, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

It was a bug that was fixed that put them there. I really don't know.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 07:30, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Dropping by

Hi, I'm just dropping by to thank you for welcoming me to Misplaced Pages and leaving those links. There were some articles I hadn't heard of yet. I didn't know either about the 'helpme' tip on talk pages. --Quirozom 09:15, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Not a problem.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 09:28, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello Ryulong, thanks for the reverting helping hand on ANI. (Netscott) 01:59, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Ah, just noticed your AIV post... cheers for that as well... most helpful. Happy Holidays! ;-) (Netscott) 02:20, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
No problems.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 02:23, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

TAnthony

Hey by the way, sorry I got you mixed up in this thing with Yrgh, I am a BAD BOY. And thanks for your intervention ... TAnthony 14:17, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Sofixit

Ryulong, this seems unneededly patronizing. Granted, it wasn't exactly a situation that needed immediate admin attention (GurchBot 2 doesn't need a block or anything), but users have reason to be concerned/confused when they find themselves in conflict with a bot. In my opinion, {{sofixit}} is ideal for just-registered/un-registered newbies who are complaining about a mistaken birthdate or clunky prose - not for users who have been here for over a month who are bringing things up on the AN. Could I request that you take the time to type out a real response if this sort of thing comes up again? Picaroon 04:15, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

I've given {{sofixit}} to other users. It's essentially a request to be bold and fix the problem oneself.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:17, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
And now I've replied to the deeper issue.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:24, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
