That's interesting. I do remember making the top edits (adding the "'''A:'''" bits), but definitely not removing your comment. That's the last thing I would do; it appears that I was using an one-revision-earlier cache of page and forgot to reload my browser; the end result was that when I saved my changes, your edits were lost because I was saving an older version. Please accept my humble apologies. | |||

Prescott Farm (Newport)
Welcome!
Hello, Banana04131/Archive 1, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Misplaced Pages
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
- If you're ready for the complete list of Misplaced Pages documentation, there's also Misplaced Pages:Topical index.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!
Hi, I noticed you created a new article on Prescott Farm. However, I think you were talking about the wrong farm. Since you seem to be particularly interested in creating new articles, I suggest you read Manual of Style to get a handle of how Misplaced Pages articles are usually formatted. Once again, I say welcome to Misplaced Pages! — Ambush Commander 03:29, August 16, 2005 (UTC)
See reply on your talk page. --Banana04131 17:50, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
Pah Ute War
You are the most recent editor on this article. I would recommend moving it to "Paiute War" to conform to the more common usage of the name. Or, it may be a better segment of the Paiute article itself. Please look at my notes on the talk page. Comments are welcome. And welcome to Misplaced Pages. I look forward to working with you. WBardwin 02:51, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- I would merge (cut and paste) the content of both the article and discussion page (if useful) into Paiute and then make Pah Ute War a "redirect page" to Paiute. That will ensure that someone typing in that spelling will go to the bigger article. For instructions on merging and redirects see: Misplaced Pages:Merging and moving pages. I think it would make a nice subsection in the bigger article. And there seems to be sources online and elsewhere there to work with. Let me know if I can help. WBardwin 03:44, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
Will do. Thanks! --Banana04131 16:54, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
Jumped in and corrected the redirect page. Take a look at the difference -- you don't need to hit the shift to create the appropriate bracketts. Sorry if I interfered. On Wiki, most of us get into the habit of correcting things when we see them -- otherwise you might never get back to it. Tell me to butt out if you want. Thanks. WBardwin 19:42, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for correcting it. I didn't really know what I was doing. --Banana04131 20:23, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- In a way, that makes Wiki more fun. You can flub up something and, with the history feature, go back and fix it. It took me quite awhile to realize which key elements were responsible for which functions. Even after six months, I learn a new one every once in a while. Some of these guys, however, are really wizards with this system. Look forward to reading your section of Paiute -- my best.............WBardwin 21:00, 27 August 2005 (UTC)

P.S. - Btw, how is your skill in English language? If it is high enough :) do you a few minutes (hours) you could spare to aid revise an article I've rewritten?
- All right, thanks! :) I have added several data and completed the article Rosicrucian, which is under nomination for "featured article" at Misplaced Pages:Featured_article_candidates/Rosicrucian, in order to comply with suggestions given there. But as my English is rather basic I need a thorough review on the sentences and words spelling to be done: please, you may change sentences to a more formal English but please try do it in a way that the meaning stays the same. If you have any trouble with any conception please ask at my talk page. I had also asked to RDF to aid with a revision, but I think that he is with work at this time, he would do a correction later on; but if you help there is no need for him to do a deep/thorough correction. Afterwards, after english correction, I will comment in the voting page for the changes to be evaluated in order receive green light to become a "featured article". What do you say? :) Thanks. --GalaazV 0:48, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

- - Btw, when you finish revising the English usage, please write "Done." under the last item (not striked) at the box "Pending tasks for Rosicrucian" of Talk:Rosicrucian. Then we'll see what follows at the Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates/Rosicrucian :) --GalaazV 17:50, 19 September 2005 (UTC)

Rosicrucian
Hi RDF. We haven't met but we were, I think, both asked to proof read the article Rosicrucian by GalaazV. I think the article is ready for resubmiting to feature article status. Please let me know what you think. Banana04131 00:06, 1 October 2005 (UTC)

Igara expansion
Nice job! Looks from your user talk as if you've got a diverse range of interests, but if you're interested in continuing to expand some Africa topics (and they could certainly use the help), here's a few more places you may want to check out:
- Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Countering systemic bias open tasks
- Portal:Africa
- Misplaced Pages:List of missing Africa topics
- Misplaced Pages:African Collaboration of the Fortnight
Hope to see you around again soon! Keep up the good work, --Dvyost 02:49, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
PS I went ahead and split Igala into Igala and Igala language--this way both can be expanded later. What do you think?
They should definetly be split. Thanks for the links! --Banana04131 04:03, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

Church of the White Bird
Hi Banana, happy to see your name come up again so soon! I wanted to warn of a few things I came across in this particular article, though. One of the sentences appears to be copied directly from here, which means it needs to be reworked (see Misplaced Pages:Copyrights). And don't forget to wikilink where you can, and add stub and category tags where you can! I happened to notice this one go blue on the List of Missing Africa Topics, but adding those extra links will help other editors find the good stuff you're adding in. Anyway, I hope I keep seeing you around. Good luck! --Dvyost 19:51, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
Sorry. I was working on the article but got called away and had to save as is. will work on it. Banana04131 19:58, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
- No worries; I actually didn't realize that had only been up for an hour. Anyway, I expanded and formatted a bit, but you probably know more about this one than me, so feel free to hack and slash as you see fit... --Dvyost 20:02, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
- Actually when I looked at it, I couldn't find anything to fix-up. :) To the next missing africa article. Banana04131 22:54, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
Winter
Whats Zion mythology? The link you provide leads to a Natural History Association: Not to a religious institution's website, or to a collection of tribal myths, but rather to a page linked to a national park... It *might* be linked to the Mormons (http://www.zionpark.org/about.php), but it doesn't seem like it, and even if it is, it's no good source for Native American myth. Your addition to the winter article would be more reliable if it started: "According to Inuit mythology..." or "According to Chippewa mythology...", etc. Didn't mean to sound rude in my removal of your addition but it seems pretty unsubstantiated. Please remove it or find a better citation. My name's Eduardo, btw. Nice to meet ya. Sorry it's on these terms.

Zion
I can't find evidence for a Zion tribe. The only one I did find was a band named that. Now, the "Zion" you cite in the winter article is the Zion Natural History Association. Follow the link you provided. There is a link at the top of the page with the myth, which leads you to it. (i.e. from http://www.thursdaysclassroom.com/23sep99/story5.html to http://www.zionpark.org/) It is a club or organization, apparently naming itself after the Zion National Park... Eduardo_Cuellar
- Oops! Sorry for not checking it better! Feel free to delete it. Banana04131 18:21, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, it can stay, as long as it's clear its origin is uncertain. I feel sorta bad now getting so aggressive over it, but "Zion myth" was so misleading. Eduardo_Cuellar

Thanks for the kind way you notified me of the VfD. Perhaps the article's time is not yet. I did not vent, nor am I angry or upset, but I did write a few clarifiying remarks on the VfD section on Aiheuism explaining the reasoning behind the article and correcting a factual error. In the future I plan to concentrate on Animal Welfare and Zoology topics which are my forte. And as a new user, certainly, I'll be looking for constructive advice whenever and wherever provided. An Esperanzial note
As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.
In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Misplaced Pages:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;)
Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --Celestianpower 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

subst
When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thanks! howcheng {chat} 01:10, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

prod'ing
Please don't PROD articles because they will "never expand" (e.g., Vetrap)... anything notable -- such as a product with its own patent pedigree and specific uses over decades -- can be made into an informative, useful stub; which at worst suggests careful merging into a larger article, and at best can stand alone. Cheers, +sj + 06:00, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Just wanted to say well done on the edits you made to Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia - seems to have been the first positively-information-increasing contribution anyone's made to the article in ages, there's been plenty of vandalism reversion, but not much else. A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Misplaced Pages:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Concordia Newsletter
Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.
Help out now!
- Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
- Give people the Civility Barnstar.
- Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
- Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
- Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.
Decision Making
The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.
If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

Removing your !vote from RfA
That's interesting. I do remember making the top edits (adding the "A:" bits), but definitely not removing your comment. That's the last thing I would do; it appears that I was using an one-revision-earlier cache of page and forgot to reload my browser; the end result was that when I saved my changes, your edits were lost because I was saving an older version. Please accept my humble apologies.
Anyway, happy New Year!
