Rear Admiral Ran Vijay Singh served the Indian Navy from 1953 to 1971. He attended Dartmouth College. He was the son of Lieutenant General Nathu Singh Rathore. He died during the dawn of Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 while onbord the submarine INS Karanj (S21) due to heart failure because of high water pressure due to deep diving of the submarine.
