In the Seventeenth Century, it was named Soulang (蕭瓏, 蕭隴, or 蕭壟, Hsiao-Long), after one of the four houses of the local Taiwanese aborigines. It is located some fifteen kilometers north of Fort Zeelandia (Taiwan). Due to the Candyworld activities in 2005 and 2006, it has become well-known.
