A. B. (talk · contribs) - I first met A.B. several months ago at Talk:University of Mary Washington in a discussion of a spam link that was being continuously being entered by the owner of a website. At the time, I was a new admin (the discussion started on November 17, just 3 days before I was granted tools on the 20th) and felt a bit like I was in over my head at a few points. But A. B. did a tremendous job dealing with this issue. I was immediately impressed with the amount of research and organization he put into the issue. In the long run, A. B. had the site blacklisted on meta and the user (and subsequent socks) were blocked. I think that if A. B. had had admin tools at that point, he could have gotten a lot more accomplished rather than relying on me, an unexperienced admin at the time.

I encourage you all to look at the archives of the spam wikiproject to see more examples of the excellent research and progress A. B. makes in countering spam. I think the community will benefit greatly if he is granted the tools. Spammers would be cut down more easily than having to rely on him contacting admins to handle something he'd be able to handle on his own. Heavily spammed articles would be semi-protected more easily.

Also take a look at his many subpages of work on his user page including User:A. B./Articles I've contributed to and User:A. B./To do list. Overall, I think A. B. is a great all-around editor and I think his contributions would greatly help our community as an admin handling all the tough spam cases that seem to crop up more and more often. It is my honor to nominate A. B. for adminship, Metros232 12:47, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here:

OPPOSE: A. B. (talk · contribs) has something against women and has made some terrible mistakes in his research. A. B. (talk · contribs) has not followed any of en.wikipedia.org guidelines. In addition he claimed to be inactive for more than 2 months while he was very active. Check logs. All of these edits should be wiped out. A. B. (talk · contribs) also has several editors/ users have said A.B. masked the truth on multiple accounts. Oppose to protect the honesty and integrity of wikipedia.org. Please, please, please spend a minute to look at all of the content before voting. I hope everyone gets a chance to read this before it disappears. All criticism of A.B. vanishes or goes avoided by locking out talk pages.
