LGBT Project

Hi, Mira, welcome to WikiProject LGBTQ+ studies!

We are a community of Misplaced Pages editors dedicated to improving articles regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, aromantic, asexual and agender people. LGBTQ+ studies covers people, culture, history, rights, and related subjects concerning sexual identity and gender identity - this covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

  • Joining the discussion at WT:LGBTQ+ is a great way to get started.
  • At LGBTQ+/Collaboration, you can find a list of WP:LGBTQ+ participants and task groups.
  • Visit LGBTQ+/Editing for tools to help create, assess, and improve articles on LGBTQ+ topics.
  • LGBTQ+/Resources has style guides, external links, templates, and other tools that support researching and writing articles on LGBTQ+ topics.

I noticed your comment about there being so many places to sign up. The reason for that is that the member list got too long for the project page (which is great) and so was moved to a subpage. I was keen to keep a full list of members on the main project page for as long as possible so created the table. But it does now mean there are two places to sign up (three if you count the interested in LGBT issues list on the noticeboard). Do you think that's off-putting for people joining? We try and copy across names where people only sign in one of the 2 lists. Would be interested in your thoughts. I look forward to seeing you around, WJBscribe  10:51, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

First off, thank you for the welcome. About the member lists, I was more amused than anything else, really. That, and I almost missed the subpage. I've noticed that there's a discussion on the project talk page, so I think I might chime in there, but it's getting a little late tonight for me to actually be communicating. ;) —Mira 11:02, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Project News
  • The LGBT Portal has once again been revamped and a work rota started. Efforts towards Featured Portal status are slowly coming together.
  • The assessment system has been a great success, we have tagged over 4000 articles! Please tag any LGBT related articles you come across by adding {{LGBTProject | class=}} to the talkpage. Please see the Assessment Department for how to assess an article according to the grading system.
  • The Translation department has changed its focus, to LGBT articles about non-English topics and people on which there may be more information on the relevant foreign Misplaced Pages. Please add your name if you are fluent in any language other than English.
  • Jumpaclass is picking up slowly, with nine people having entered. With over 2000 stubs we need to improve our article quality. Please sign up and get it going! Challenge another user to see how far you can jump a stub!
  • There is an ongoing discussion about the current LGBT categorisation system here, here, and a little bit here. A special page has now been set up here to deal with this.
  • A Watchlist has been set up to monitor controversial and/or highly vandalised articles. It can also be used for article disputes, just add a note explaining the nature of the dispute.
  • With the influx of so many active members, there is now enough support for a LGBT studies peer review, which may be found here. It's in the beta phase at the moment, so bear with us if we make any mistakes. Feel free to peer review any articles you have been working on.
  • It was agreed this month to start reducing the uses of the Notice board, as many members felt that it was not effective. An open tasks template has been created, bringing together important announcements, FAC/FARs, Peer reviews, XfDs, the COTM, and requested articles. You may desire to watchlist it. A Deletion sorting subpage is also now working to bring together XfDs - this should be bot-driven, but we have not currently tagged enough articles to make this fully automated, so please update the list with any LGBT-related XfDs you come across.

This is just a quick, automated note to let you know that there is an election being conducted over the next 7 days for the position of "Coordinator" for the LGBT WikiProject. Your participation is requested. -- SatyrTN (talk · contribs)

Re: Copyright issue with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (season 4)

I don't really remember editing the text of that article. I might have reworded some that was already there but I never copied from TV.com. Regards, Ladida 02:55, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

The article's history says that you created the article, and the information in the article is (in most cases) exactly identical to that of TV.com. In addition, all of the other Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (season X) articles that I have checked so far are also copied from TV.com. —Mira 02:58, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes I created the article. But I separated the huge "List of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episodes" article into the various seasons by cutting and pasting so I never really wrote the text in the first place. Regards, Ladida 03:02, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I understand now. I'm very sorry for the mix-up. It appears that User:Munnp001 is the person who originally copied the content. Happy editing! —Mira 03:08, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
That's okay. Regards, Ladida 03:10, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Your template - my template

Check out this template:

This user would rather use {{WP:UBS}} than {{User:UBX/Userboxes/General Nav}}.

They weren't really designed to be competing templates, and I don't really see the point, but have fun with that. I'm out of the userbox biz. —Mira 22:42, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
