Hello, please look at this user he is editing majority particular caste related articles and is heavily using doubtful references. He is Rajput promoting account only. Check his contributions.

War article without any authentic source

Please once see this Battle of Mandan page. Not a single source looks credible. 2 out of 3 the sources are even low rated on Google books and one is by a caste historian.

Lowering the particular caste and warn

Hey,Intentionally you lowering the Vanniyar community and protect the page by false information, Even if some political leaders, businessman..,etc are from Vanniyar community you forcefully prevent anyone from editing and removing the truth contents, if you have logics, ethics, truth means prevent all castes pages and do your job, What happiness you will found by lowering vanniyar community ?? RCSRICE, why do you think that an experienced and neutral editor of our community, Sitush would try to degrade any particular caste or community! Basically, many users/editors are here only trying to promote their own caste, and we are here to protect such caste promotion/glorification! Sitush is mostly inactive nowadays; that's the reason, I replied here on behalf of the Misplaced Pages community. Ekdalian (talk) 13:34, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

Thoughts on reliability of source

Is Robert Sewell's work, A Forgotten Empire (Vijayanagar), a reliable source? From what I have read Sewell was a civil servant and his record keeping of the Buddha of stupa was criticized by Hoock, Holger (2010). @Kansas Bear I've only read bits of it but wasn't impressed. It would fail WP:HISTRS and the spirit of WP:RAJ. As far as I am aware, he was just one of the many enthusiastic amateur "scholars" serving British administrative interests in India at the time. There were all sorts of them - ones interested in linguistics, comparative religions, history, archaeology, scientific racism etc. Best to avoid him, I think, even if no more recent scholarship exists for whatever the statement may be. - Sitush (talk) 21:00, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

The caste claims to be descended from Devala, an ancient Hindu sage. They originated from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, and during the reign of the Vijayanagara Empire they migrated to Tamil Nadu. They are of Shudra status in the Hindu caste system. However, they use the Devanga Purana, a text sacred to the Devangas, to claim Brahmin status, despite having a non-Brahmin profession.
