Robert J. Rosenstein (born 1955) founded Liquor Barn, now owned by Gopuff, in 1985 in downtown Lexington, Kentucky . He is currently the managing member of RD Property Group, LLC, which develops and manages commercial real estate throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.


Early life and career

Robert graduated from University of Miami in 1978 with degrees in Finance and Economics. Upon graduating college, Rob began his pursuit of bringing fine wines from all over the world to Kentucky as the Founder-President and CEO of The Liquor Barn, which was sold to the publicly traded company Liquor Depot of Canada in 2009. Liquor Barn sold to Louisville based private equity firm Blue Equity in 2017 , and in 2021 Gopuff acquired the Liquor Barn chain.

Robert also co-founded Audi of Lexington , Toyota of Muncie , and Angela Estate Clawson Creek Winery .

Community Involvement

Rob has supported several community causes as demonstrated through his board engagements, some of which include Bluegrass Care Navigators , Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass, Lexington Children’s Museum, Markey Cancer Center , UK College of Pharmacy, First Security Bank of Lexington, The Lexington School , and Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.


Awards and recognitions

Rob is a member of the American Wine Society, 1987 Market Watch Retail Leader of the Year for Wine & Spirits, and 2008 Market Watch Leader for Best Merchandising .
