Sam James Matlock is a British musician. He entered the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart as a member of Dead! and Wargasm.

Life and career

Early life and bands

Matlock is the son of Glen Matlock, the bassist for the Sex Pistols, a band described by Matt Mills of Metal Hammer as "one of rock’s most infamous bands". He and his brother Louis both attended Ryde School and Southampton Solent University. While there, he and Louis formed Dead! with Sam Chappell and Alex Mountford, who signed to Infectious Records in May 2016. After moving to London, the band released the singles "You're So Cheap", "Something More Original", "Enough, Enough, Enough", "Up for Ran$om", and "The Golden Age of Not Even Trying" and then the album The Golden Age of Not Even Trying, which charted at No. 11 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart. The band announced that they would split up following a gig in October 2018, following which Matlock spent a period working behind a bar.

Matlock later formed Wargasm with the band's photographer Milkie Way.
