She was on local television in Queensland before going on to national programs such as Wombat and the Australian version of It's a Knockout.
Her sister Jacki MacDonald is a former Australian television personality, having been a regular co-host of Hey Hey It's Saturday.
MacDonald died in October 2024 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) in November 2021. She, and her experience with MND, featured in an October 2023 episode of Australian Story.
