scorching thousands of acres of land. Forcing evacuations of thousands of people, burning homes and, shutting off power. The fire caused the mandatory evacuation of the Pacific Palisades, a rich costal neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles with the median home price being 3.1 Million dollars. The neighborhood is home to around 24,000 people. Around 10,000 homes were affected by the fire.
The wildfire caused US President Joe Biden to cancel his plans to travel to Coachella Valley in Riverside County, where he was going to announce the establishment of two new national monuments. One being near Joshua Tree National Park and another in Northern California. Biden will announce this in Los Angeles instead.
