Zandy Reich is its president. Its headquarters and studio are in Nolita.
Its founders have work experience at J. Crew, Theory, Madewell, and H&M. AYR began as a DTC brand incubated within Bonobos before Bonobos was acquired by Walmart. Bonobos maintains a minority stake. Its Series A funding was led by Dutch, LLC, which owns brands including Joie, Equipment, and Current/Elliot.
Its first physical retail store was on Lafayette Street in Soho, New York. Its second store was opened on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, Los Angeles. The brand is carried in Nordstrom and through Shopbop and Stitch Fix.
