He helped create the band Third Day with guitarist Mark Lee. Mac Powell lives in Georgia with his family. Third Day won a Grammy for Best Christian Album.
Solo Career
In 2007, Mac Powell had a single without his band Third Day on the compilation album Glory Revealed: The Word of God in Worship called "By His Wounds", a song which also features the Christian artists Steven Curtis Chapman, Brian Littrell (formerly of the Backstreet Boys) and Mark Hall.
