Wu Song was a hero in the Water Margin. He was famous for his slaying of the tiger, which,in Chinese,is known as Wu Song Da Hu or Wu Song Kills The Tiger. The other character in the same tale who also slayed a tiger (several, in fact), was Li Kui, but Wu Song did it with his bare hands while Li Kui had a pair of axes.

In one of the most famous chapters in the epic tale, Wu Song kills his elder brother's adulterous wife, along with the adulterer, Ximen Qing. For that, he became a fugitive and eventually joined forces with Lu Zhi Shen and Yang Zhi, amongst a few others. They were to all later make their way to Liangshan. Wu Song had one of his arms cut off in the battle against Fang La.
