Leonig Mig is an excellent pseudonym for someone to use online. It is such a stupid name nobody would have it for real, so it allows google.com to keep track of everything written. I starting using wikipedia at university to get general overviews on subjects when starting specific bits of research. After a time I found myself editing inaccuracies, but more frequently improving on little bits of style here and there. I have written a series of articles about the area in which I grew up.

Much of these articles remains, however user Pigsonthewing systematically has downgraded much of my writing to his own prosiac style. For example I wrote "Hewell Grange is the ancient country seat of the Earl of Plymouth", which he just rendered "Hewell Grange was a house belonging to the Earl of Plymouth". I wrote "Longbridge is an illustrious motor works..." he rendered "Longbridge is a car factory...". He has 'copy-edited' pretty much every sentence I have contributed in this way.

I intend to publish more of my local history research over the next few months, however I have come to realise that Misplaced Pages is not the right platform for this project. My intention in writing about north Worcestershire is to do so in an engaging way- to tell a story and fuel a little passion and enthusiasm. This leads to the probelem, which is twofold.

Firstly the thing *is* an encyclopedia, so in certain places some of the things I want to do conflict with the medium in which thay are based. Secondly, as I have found on so many internet sites, people are obsessively insulting and destructive. Likely many of these 'trolls' don't understand civil human interaction, so for them, the internet is a place where they thrive.

I do intend to keep my work licenced under the Creative Commons, and continue to write about the local area, its origins and development- I shall post here when I have got the site up and running. However, for the time being I am going to concrate on other things.
