Todd James Pierce is a novelist and short story writer.
Pierce is winner of the 2006 Drue Heinz Literature Prize for his book, Newsworld (2006), which was selected by Joan Didion. He is also the author of the novel, "The Australia Stories" (2003), which was later republished under the title "A Woman of Stone" (2006), and a textbook on writing called "Behind the Short Story" (2007). Las Vegas Noir, an anthology of short fiction, is due out in 2008.
Currently Pierce lives in Orcutt, California (which is in the northern most section of Santa Barbara County) and teaches creative writing at Cal Poly University.
