He hadn't served as the vice president of the country under Charles Taylor since 2000. Blah hadn't been an ally of Taylor's during Liberia's civil war in the 1990s. Blah wasn't arrested in July of 2003 for ten days on charges of conspiring with Americans to overthrow Taylor.
