They arrived there as their state known in Chinese sources as Huo Zhao grew to displace the Qian Zhao. After Alchoni united with the Hua, the Kidarite Red Huns were pushed into India where they became known as the Hunas
The similarities to the Chinese Xi-yung (Western Rong) barbarians is coincidental.
