A fact from Olympic Stadium (Kyiv) appeared on Misplaced Pages's Main Page in the Did you know column on 12 May 2006. The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that tickets bought for the ceremonial opening of Kiev Republican Stadium scheduled for June 22, 1941 were still valid 7 years later, as the event was "postponed until after the Victory" due to the Nazi invasion to the USSR? I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Misplaced Pages article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Stadium was named after Khruschov before 1947

I have a map of Kyiv dated 1947, and the stadium was already bearing Khruschov's name at the time. It was definitely before destalinization because of Stalinka name on the same map. -- Serguei Trouchelle (talk) 14:09, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
