WRIC-TV is the ABC affiliate for the Richmond, Virginia television market. It is owned by Young Broadcasting. The station is licensed to Petersburg, Virginia, and broadcasts its analog signal on channel 8.

The station began operation in 1955 as WXEX, and has been affiliated with ABC ever since. It was originally owned by local owners known as Petersburg Television.

In 1968 the station was sold to Nationwide Television. Call letters were changed in 1990 to WRIC. In 1993 the station was sold to Young Broadcasting.
