Amina Shah is the author of several classic collections of stories from many cultures, and is regarded as the foremost storyteller of her generation. For many years she was the Chairperson of the College of Storytellers. She is the sister of the legendary sufi writer Idries Shah, and the daughter of dplomat and savant Sirdar Ikbal Ali Shah. Her nephew is Tahir Shah and her niece Saira Shah.
