Courtney Love is a singer and guitarist for the band Hole-also currently comprising of Eric Erlandson & Sam Maloney. She used to be married to Kurt Cobain, singer in the band Nirvana (died in 1994). She has one daughter, named Frances Bean.

In her early career she modelled a 'baby doll' look, although this has since evolved to something more sophiticated-with Courtney having modelled for designer labels.

Courtney has attempted to begin a 'punk rock femme supergroup' during summer/autumn 2001 called Bastard. Currently 'Hole' are involved in a law suit.

Courtney Love has also been an outspoken critic of the music industry, which she sees as exploiting musicians unfairly, and supporter of file-sharing systems such as Napster.

Courtney has recently (October 2001) performed in some solo shows as an opening act.
