Matt "The Lord" Zane (born October 27, 1974) is an American musician and pornographic film director.

Biography

Early life and education

Zane was born Matthew Zicari in Rochester, New York. He graduated from Fairport High School in 1992.

Career

Zane came to fame as an adult film director with the "Backstage Sluts" series. His adult film company, Matt Zane Productions, produces films that are considered to have an "alternative" film style due to the incorporation of unusual elements, such as performers receiving a tattoo at the same time they are engaging in a sexual act in the "Tattooed and Tight" series.

Zane is also the frontman for industrial metal band Society 1, which released its first album in 1999. Matt Zane has performed with Society 1 while suspended above the stage on hooks, 2005 Download Festival.

On January 11th, 2008 he beat Criss Angel's suspension of 5 hours and 42 minutes with a successful attempt at a 6 hour suspension with only four hooks, as opposed to Angel's eight. The performance took place at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.

Philosophical and/or political views

Zane considers himself a "transcendental" Satanist, and released his own religious text.
