Sacred Reich was a heavy metal band that existed in the late 1980s. Singer/songwriter Phil Rind's interest was in socially-conscious and political speed metal. After several records on Metal Blade - they were signed to Hollywood Records for a short stint. They later returned to Metal Blade to continue their musical career. Although the band was not commercially successful like Metallica or Megadeth, many consider their albums to be on par with the best speed metal.

A former member of Sacred Reich, drummer Dave McClain, later went on to join the heavy metal band Machine Head from 1997 to present.
