Today, it is the site of a Jewish Israeli settlement. The most important and famous resident is Baruch Marzel, a former head of Kach, who lives with his family there. Kach is a religious and nationalist Jewish group originally led by Jewish leader Rabbi Meir Kahane who was assassinated by Egyptian terrorist El Sayyid Nosair and hopes to transfer Arabs from the land of Israel. Rabbi Kahane had a seat in the Knesset on the Kach list from 1984-1988 before it was banned.
