William Juliano Amamoo, (born 4 April 1982 in Accra) is a Ghanaian footballer with Romania team CS Gaz Metan Mediaş.

Career

He began his career 2000 by the famous Ghanaian club Liberty Professionals F.C. in the Academy he left after a short stint with the team in course Dawu Youngsters in 2001, he played by Dawu Youngsters before joined 2002 to Ghana Premier League club Heart of Lions. In January 2003 moved to Romanian lower Division club Euro Africa Buşteni, who in 2004 scouted from Liga I team FC Farul Constanţa.

Amamoo played 1 game with Constanţa and moved than to Swedish team Syrianska FC, who a celebrated star becames and the best goal keeper of the season was. This was the big break in his career and moved to FC Sopron in July 2006, played only two games and moved after 6 months to CF Liberty Salonta in January 2007, who he 26 games played.

He left in July 2007 the club and moved to Swedish team Vasalunds IF, after 10 games in Sweden moved back to Romania and signs in October 2007 a contract by FC Sacele, played there the season to end and moved in July 2008 to Egyptian Premier League club FC Telecom Egypt, who he 5 months abode, before turned back to Romania, he signed in late December 2008 a contract by CS Gaz Metan Mediaş.

Honors

William Amamoo, a Ghanaian goal keeper was awarded best goal keeper of the season after playing 18 games without conceding any goal, in the 2004 league season in Romania.

He was awarded the best goal keeper in the Hungarian 2006 Premier League after finishing at the 4th position with his club and was also awarded best SAVE of the season.

He was awarded the best goal keeper in the Swedish league after helping in the promotion of his club Syrianska FC from Division 2 to Division 1.

He was awarded Gold Medal in the Swedish DM knockout competition with SYRIANSKA.

International

He received first cap at the friendly match against Australia on May 23 2008.

Background

He requested the Romanian passport, the wish was to play for the Romania national football team, the claim was 2004 rejected.
