Simon Walter Hackett is the co-founder (with Robyn Taylor in 1991) and managing director of Internode Systems, Agile Communications and Stemme Australia, the Australian representative of Stemme AG.
Hackett is a former board member of the Adelaide Fringe Festival and m.Net Corporation. He is also a former board member of the Australian Network for Arts and Technology.He co-founded and is a former director of The Internet Society of Australia, and was the founding president of the South Australian Internet Association (which has since been disbanded).
Together with John Romkey, Hackett connected the first commercial domestic appliance (a Sunbeam Deluxe Automatic Radiant Control Toaster) to the internet in 1990.
He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Adelaide, holding a Bachelors Degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society.
