Jay Cutler (born Jason Isaac Cutler August 3, 1973 in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA) is an American bodybuilder. THE INNER MAN(taken from Flex magazine May ´03, Jay was interviewed by Jim Rosenthal):

GREATEST FEAR: Suffering a career-ending injury.

LIVING PERSON YOU MOST ADMIRE: My wife.

GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT OUTSIDE OF BODYBUILDING: Building a succesful business operation that will outlast my competitive career.

MAIN SOURCE OF MOTIVATION/INSPIRATION: My support team: my wife, Kerry; my nutritionist, Chris Aceto; my family; friends; sponsors; and training partners.

GREATEST CHALLENGES: Staying focused on and consistent with my diet and training while traveling and running a business.

PERSONAL INFLUENCES AND ROLE MODELS: My older brothers: Bob, Keith and Randall. These guys made a tremendous impact on me when i was growing up. They taught me the value of hard work and making a commitment to doint the job right.

MOST ADMIRABLE QUALITY: My blue-collar work ethic. I can get it done under intense pressure.

QUALITIES YOU MOST ADMIRE IN PEOPLE: Never quitting. Being resilient.

QUALITY YOU MOST DISLIKE IN PEOPLE: Jealousy.

  COMBAT ZONE

WEIGHT AT FIRST CONTEST: I was 190 pounds in May 1992 at the Gold´s Gym Classic in Worcester. I placed second in the men´s division, and i was only 18 years old.

EARLY BODYBUILDING INFLUENCES AND ROLE MODELS: I admired Bob Paris´ physique and learned a lot about training from his book Beyond Built. I liked his look, and the book was very useful in the trenches.

CAREER HIGHLIGHT: It is a tossup between the 2000 Night of Champions and the 2002 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic. Winning the NOC was breaking new ground after the 15th-place debacle at the `99 Mr. Olympia. I felt like i was washed up after the Mr.O, and winning the NOC put me on the map as a top contender. Beating Chris Cormier to win the Arnold proved that i was not a one-hit wonder, that i could duplicate the success I enjoyed at the 2001 Olympia.

CAREER LOW POINT: The 1999 Mr. Olympia. It was my first Mr. O. I was handed 15th-place, and i was miserable.

   RIVALS:

DESCRIBE RONNIE COLEMAN: One of the sport´s most dedicated athlete.

DESCRIBE CHRIS CORMIER: The most genetically gifted bodybuilder; however, Chris has not even come close to fulfilling his potential.

DESCRIBE SHAWN RAY: He gets under the skin of most people. My impression is that he has finally retired from bodybuilding.

DESCRIBE CRAIG TITUS: Titus has settled down, finally, and is more grounded, which should allow him to focus 100% on what he´s trying to accomplish.
