Just around the corner,
there's a rainbow in the sky,
So let's have another cup of coffee,
and let's have another piece of pie.
Misplaced Pages:Featured picture candidates/Big & Small
Hi! I've made an alt of this image. You've voted on it; could you review the alternative, and see which you prefer? Shoemaker's Holiday 20:01, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi. Your uploading of File:Gilad Shalit on Hamas poster.jpg has been questioned since it is an image of a poster, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher or the creator. I believe it would be pretty easy to write up fair use rationales for its use on two articles on Misplaced Pages but I am under the impression that Commons does not allow nonfree content ever so it needs to be uploaded to the English Misplaced Pages and removed from over there. Do you know of that correct or does it make any sense? If anything I would expect the owner of the work to not be losing any profit of this and enjoy pushing his propaganda so I see no problem if it is used to improve critical commentary. Let me know if you know more about it since I would hate to start deleting and uploading when it is not my forté.Cptnono (talk) 09:57, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Here's the link from before. I think fair use in the Shalit article is perfectly reasonable. Elsewhere might be more problematic. Here is a fair use I did recently that hasn't been challenged. Sean.hoyland - talk 10:07, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Strange. The image is on Commons now.It was deleted, but then it was undeleted even without my formal request. So, I am not sure why the question. Anyway, if you need to upload is a free-use please do.--Mbz1 (talk) 11:16, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Thank you
Mbz1, I appreciate that. Now that my block has been lifted, I can tell you that your Inquisition photos are right on the ball...--Geewhiz (talk) 14:33, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
