Most of my contributions around Misplaced Pages are of the housekeeping variety, with lots of copyediting (my other day job, for ATPM and SchwarzTech) and other related cleanup.

I also do the occasional (not-so-occasional of late) RC patrol and enjoy whacking vandals in my spare time. This "hobby" is not without its risks; the vandals seem to be getting more aggressive and confrontational about my patrol. Shrugging off the offensive comments comes with the territory. Vandals beware: you're going to have to work really really hard to get my dander (not dandruff) up.

Stuff on my to-do list:

• Finish breaking down other U.S. coin denominations by series, as has been done with the dime and nickel.
• As part of above, incorporate Franklin half dollar into United States half dollar coin and probably Wheat penny into Penny (U.S. coin).
• Thoroughly copy-edit the entire United States coins category and make sure stuff that isn't currently there gets included
• Collaborate with DieYuppieScum and other members of WikiProject Numismatics on the above

PROBLEMS

Checkride.com is the world's leading producer of FAA written test prep software. Our software prepares more pilots for more written tests than Sportys, Gleim, or ASA (though the latter two sell more books and the former more DVDs). We are hardworking flight instructors that spend thousands of hours per year on a useful product and our commitment to aviation shows in that our website not only provides our for-pay products, but our numerous aviation freebies as well. Despite this, Mr Clawson has decided that we are "linkspammers" because a link to our page would exist in the FAA flight training section of wikipedia. That links exist for Prepare2Test.com, a hastily thrown together website with incomplete and out-of-date FAA question banks doesn't seem to matter. Nor does it seem to matter to him that sporty's and gleim, both 100% purely for-profit organizations (and gleim doesnt even HAVE any content online - all they basically have is an ecommerce site) are listed there. So, the question must be asked: who does Mr. Lawson think he is? Who does he work for that he would so zealously protect (generously) equivalent websites with LESS relevant content?

And let's not even forget that we are the ONLY website to offer software for FAA checkride ORAL exam preparation, and really the ONLY site or store to offer ANY oral exam preparation for Helicopters.

Please, sir. A little fairness is in order. While We respect the work you do for wiki, you have been completely unfair in your handling of our links. Thank you for taking a second look and recognizing that checkride.com's website (soon to enter its 10th year) is exactly the sort of thing that the "external links" section was meant for.
