IGN used to stand for Imagine Games Network, until Imagine Media were acquired by Snowball Inc. Snowball is now known as just IGN Entertainment, and IGN now stands for nothing.
In 2004 IGN and Gamespy Industries merged, and are now known as IGN/Gamespy.
