Total is also the name of a 3-piece female R&B group, which was put together by P. Diddy in the early 1990s and found urban success throughout the remainder of that decade on Diddy's Bad Boy record company. One of Total's first appearances was in singing the chorus to The Notorious B.I.G.'s 1994 debut single, "Juicy". Total went on to sing the chorus on a popular remix of Biggie's next single, "One More Chance", along with other rising Bad Boy R&B singers, Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, and Faith Evans. Unlike the other R&B songstresses and even P. Diddy and Biggie Smalls themselves, however, Total never achieved top 40 success during the period between 1997 and the present when hip-hop and R&B have exploded into the American mainstream. This could be due to the fact that Total disbanded in 1998 and have not released any new albums or singles since.
