"Secret"
Song

"Secret (Take You Home)" is a pop song written by a collection of songwriters for Kylie Minogue's ninth studio album Body Language (2003). The song had a limited release in the beginning of 2004 to Taiwan. The song features an interpolation of the chorus to the 1985 song "I Wonder If I Take You Home" by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. The song was her biggest hit in Taiwan, making it on to the EMI 2004 Hit Disc, with her song at number 1 as well the picture of her used on the CD single on the front cover of the hit disc. The picture was used to attract attention to the CD because of the attention the song had received.

Composition

"Secret (Take You Home)" is an up-tempo dance-pop style song with strong influences of electropop. The song also features prominent R&B elements as well as incorporating nu-funk.

Lyrically, the song speaks of Minogue meeting a boy and wondering if he can be her lover or not.

Critical reception

The Guardian said the song was "Kylie's rapping debut" and also commented on the large number of writers for the song, despite the song not having a "too-many-cooks pitfall." NME praised Kylie's rapping on the track but said it sounded "clipped and controlled." PopMatters said that the song "boats a great hook" and compared it to works by Prince and INXS. Yahoo! called it a standout track from the album, comparing it to Justin Timberlake.

Live performances

Kylie performed the song on Money Can't Buy, a promotional concert for Body Language. The live performance was used as a promotional video for the single.
