Lindsey Stirling (born September 21, 1987), is an American recognized violinist, performance artist, and composer. She came to national attention in 2010 when he competed on the fifth season of America's Got Talent.
Lindsey has been in Multiple National Competitions and is well know by her versatility performing every type of music from country to hip hop. She has played in Vegas Clubs, NBA Halftime shows, and venues across the country. Also she has opened for or played with acts such as Sean Kingston, Donny Osmond, Allan Jackson, Shaun Barrowes, Benton Paul and many other artists.
At the age of 19 Lindsey was a popular finalist on the fifth season of America's Got Talent. where she was known as the ‘Hip Hop Violinist’. After Lindsey's performance, Sharon Osbourne said, "Wow... we love you Lindsey!” and Piers Morgan call her "Electrifying!".
Life and career
Lindsey was born in Provo, Utah. At the age of 5, after being influenced by the classic music records played by her dad through an old record player, she requested the opportunity to learn and play the violin. Despite a struggling financial situation and thanks to sacrifices her parents did, Lindsey finally had the opportunity to receive lessons at the age of 6. Lindsey was classically trained through private lessons, and symphonies, for 12 years. When she was 16, she joined to a rock band with her four best friends. As part of her experience with the band, Lindsey wrote a solo violin rock song and her performance won her the title of Arizona’s Jr. Miss in 2005 and the talent category at the National Jr. Miss Pageant
2010 – Present
After Lindsey's success on America's Got Talent in the fall of 2010, Lindsey began to pursue her career as a solo artist. She came out with an EP album in 2010 and in 2011 she began to grow in popularity due to her music videos on YouTube receiving millions of views.
Lindsey is currently studying Therapeutic Recreation at the Brigham Young University. Through her unique style of playing; Lindsey wants to be a positive role model for teenage girls. “I want to prove that you don’t have to conform to be accepted. The greatest Value comes from loving yourself for who you are.”
