He started off at alternative radio station Channel Z, before he went on to host the music jukebox show "Select Live". He was one of the twelve finalists for the "Cleo Bachelor of the Year" in 2005. He has a huge teen following in New Zealand, and has also featured in the "Best Dressed List".
Joel is considered as one of the most promising acts in New Zealand, he has appeared on multiple shows and magazines, and continues to rise the ranks of New Zealand television.
