Emil Grunzweig was an Israeli Peace Now activist killed during a peace rally in Jerusalem on February 10, 1983. Gruenzweig was killed when a right-wing Jewish extremist Yona Avrushmi lobbed a grenade into the crowd of demonstrators. Avrushmi was convicted and sentenced to 27 years in prison. In 2005 Avrushmi was denied early release; he is currently slated to be released in 2010.
