WEAO Channel 49, is a PBS member station licensed to Akron, Ohio. It is operated from studio facilities in the Akron suburb of Kent, Ohio by Northeastern Educational Television of Ohio, which is a consortium of Akron University, Kent State University and Youngstown State University.

WEAO's sister station is WNEO Channel 45 in Alliance, Ohio. Since sign-on in 1975, WEAO has simulcast WNEO. The stations are thus identified together as PBS 45 & 49.

WEAO's home of Channel 49 had been the home of Akron's WAKR-TV from 1953 until 1967. WAKR-TV moved to Channel 23, and is now WVPX.
