The game will feature gameplay similar to its predecessor, Lego Batman: The Videogame, but allowing players to play as classic Batman characters and other various DC Comics superheroes, such as Green Lantern, Superman and Wonder Woman. Using this feature, the plot evolves around the Caped Crusader teaming up with the Justice League as they go on an adventure to defeat The Joker and Lex Luthor. New gadgets such as Robin's Hazard Cannon, Superman's heat vision, and a Power Suit for Batman have been announced. A promo for the game was leaked online by Lego fansite, Bricktuts. Voice actors have been hired to deliver dialogue and not just sound effects, something that has not happened in a Lego game for a long time.. There has been a new reveal trailer featuring Batman, Superman, The Joker, and Lex Luthor with some gameplay. It will feature 50 playable characters and Gotham City will be huge. Lego Batman 2 will be an open-world game.
